Hope Nations Christian Church of Chattanooga is a non-denominational church in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and until now it had no website at all. I was glad to build its first one. The church calls itself a nonjudgmental body of believers, and its slogan says plainly what it is working toward: “Raising A Nation That Will Obey Him.”
How Hope Nations began
Hope Nations was founded in 2026 by Dr. Barney R. May in Chattanooga, Tennessee. It started as a small cell group of 6 people. When I asked what kind of church it is, the answer came back in a few words: a community, and a nonjudgmental one. That answer shaped the whole site. Every page is written so that a stranger reading it on a phone knows they would be welcome.
The mission, in the church’s own words
The church’s mission statement is short, and I kept it word for word on the About page. Its center is one sentence: “To lead souls to Christ and to empower future generations to rise in their divine purpose.” It goes on to say, “We welcome every heart, no matter your past, background or your walk of life.”
The statement ends with a line I set large on the site, because it says what Hope Nations wants to be: “This isn’t just a church, it’s a movement of Love, Light and Legacy.”
Meet Apostle Dr. Barney R. May

Apostle May is originally from Anderson, Indiana, and has been in ministry since 1975. He served in the United States Navy, and he has served as International Prelate of Judah Full Gospel Ministries International since 1994. He has been honored with a Doctorate of Divinity Degree. His full story is on his own page, in his own words, from his first call in Anderson to his years of ministry in Alabama.
Four people serve on the leadership team with him: Melvin Harrison, Administrator; Elder Ronald Malcom, Associate Minister; Minister Dale Avery, Trustee and Associate Minister; and Bro. Devin Hodge, Trustee.
Nine ministries
Hope Nations has nine ministries, and each one is named on the site in the church’s own words. Kings Table provides food and clothing. Stepping Stones is a first-time home buyers program. YES, the Youth Empowerment Society, meets on Saturday from 12 to 2 PM. SEE is a sisterhood ministry and Men of Valor is a brotherhood ministry. Eagle’s Nest is for entrepreneurial leadership. Then there are Financial Empowerment, Purview for human services and development services, and Rebuilding Zion’s Walls, a daily home Bible study. They are all on the Ministries page.

How to reach the church
You can call the church at 423-806-2333 or email hopenationscdc1@gmail.com. Prayer, counseling and planned ministries also happen through the week, so it is worth calling to ask about any of them. Both are on the Contact page, and if you would like to support the work, the Give page takes you straight to the church’s giving page.
A site built around the crest

The church already had a beautiful crest: a lit torch over a globe and an open Bible, gold lettering on an oxblood ring, purple cords on either side and Chattanooga on the ribbon. I took every color on the website from it. The black is the crest’s own background, so the crest sits on the page with no box around it. The gold, the oxblood, the purple and the orange of the flame all come from the same picture, and the mission statement is set on the color of the open Bible’s pages. The point was a website that could only belong to Hope Nations. If your church would like one built the same way, you can find me at Floulex Web.
